Our Program Mission: Every
10 minutes a baby is born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia
(CDH). Even though over a half million babies have
been born with CDH since the year 2000, many obstetricians and
pediatricians have only seen a few cases in their careers. This
is due to undiagnosis of CDH, elective termination, or the inability to
survive transport to a larger hospital. Because of the lack
of experience, there is a huge lack of information not only for the
doctors, but for patients.
Our mission is to work with CDH families to provide timely and accurate
information to all hospitals in the United States by the year
2015. To do this, we are recruiting members to adopt
hospitals in honor and in memory of their cherubs. This is a
wonderful way to help other CDH families, honor our own children and
give back to the hospitals that have helped each of us.
There is no cost to the doctors or families that receive the
information provided by adoptions.
This is the first and only CDH project of it's kind. It is our
mission that no CDH family ever face the devastating diagnosis of
Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia without information or support and that
no doctor be in need of materials to pass on to patients families.
